About
Anastasya Martynova makes work that changes a space. Paintings, gilded glass panels, carved sculpture and large-scale installations, each piece made entirely by hand in her London studio, and each one deeply rooted in the patterns and textures of the natural world.
Holding several design degrees and most recently trained in Historic Carving at City and Guilds of London Art School, she has spent several years working with MUSEEA - an award-winning Stockholm-based exhibition design studio, creating large-scale immersive environments shown internationally. It's this work that has sharpened her instinct for how art transforms a space and how people move through and respond to it. An earlier career in set design and art direction for the BBC gave her the ability to work across disciplines simultaneously and solve creative problems fast, which means she's equally at home with an unusual or complex brief. She welcomes commissions that others might find difficult.
Her work is held in private collections across Europe and the Middle East, and has been commissioned for cultural institutions, luxury hospitality groups and flagship brand projects. Clients include the National Museum of Qatar, Saga Cruises, Liljevalchs, and Nordiska Museet. Large-scale works are often created on site, including internationally. She works with interior designers, collectors, and luxury brands seeking work with real craft and a considered point of view.
She is a member of the Michelangelo Foundation / Homo Faber, the Crafts Council Directory, and the Heritage Crafts Association, and shows regularly at the Affordable Art Fair.
