Memory Chain for The New Craftsmen 

Hand-carved large wooden chain, entirely crafted from one single, continuous piece of pine.

In this piece, Anastasya was interested in sympathetically pushing a natural material into new, unexpected configurations while preserving its tactile qualities.

The open chain, a symbol of liberation, and a representation of the release of emotional burdens inspired my initial concept. Simultaneously, it evoked childhood memories of play and a sense of carefree joy, conveyed through its scale and weight. The object appears to possess an inherent life force, contingent upon its arrangement.
